CInI’s Mission Programme’s primary focus is on enhancing the quality of life in the Central Indian tribal belt. Two of the core components of this mission is are to improve access to clean and safe drinking water, and to build better sanitation infrastructure, thereby complementing the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat mission.The programme focuses primarily on:1) Technological innovations for service delivery2) Innovative finance modelsCInI helped form new village-level water and sanitation committees, scaled up existing ones, and strengthened them through orientation, regular meetings, capacity building and exposure. These committees were made responsible for rolling out hamlet-level sanitation plans and were provided testing kits to periodically monitor drinking water quality.
